Home security cameras are a reality these days.

Whilst the technological advances in home security cameras have been enormous it seems no one has made a solid effort to consider the mounting hardware used to keep cameras securely in place.

Current mounting options supplied with cameras, or available as an aftermarket purchase, are either weak plastic shells with magnets or flimsy die-cast brackets with exposed screws and multiple entry points.

Cameras held on these inferior mounts can be easily unscrewed by hand in seconds.

Although cameras are ‘affordable’ they are seen as a luxury or investment and therefor attractive to thieves.

The lack of development in camera mounts ‘fit for purpose’ means that cameras are prone to theft, vulnerable and are being stolen, resulting in:-

• cost of replacing the camera/solar panel
• possible damage to the area where the camera/solar panel was mounted
• loss of peace-of-mind and increased feeling of vulnerability
• actual reduced security on the property in question
